Ecolandia Parco Ludico Tecnologico
Ecolandia Park is located in the Arghillà district to the north of Reggio Calabria. It is located in a strategic transit point, just a few minutes’ drive from the gateway to Sicily, the harbour of Villa San Giovanni, and from the main road to Aspromonte and its National Park. The natural balcony overlooking the Strait of Scylla and Charybdis on which the facility stands makes it a scenic spot of superb beauty, with views ranging from Mount Etna to Aeolian Islands.
The monumental heart of Ecolandia is “T. Gullì” military fortress, one of the 23 Umbertine batteries forming part of Messina Strait Defence System, built by the Army General Staff at the end of the 19th century to defend national borders.
The fortified complex, surrounded on three sides by a moat, is made up of a building with typical “C” shape, half-buried on the outside to camouflage it from the sea, and Piazza d’Armi (Square of Weaponry), which gives access to numerous internal rooms and, through long ramps, to eight gun emplacements.
Having ceased its military functions after Second World War, and in the lack of new purposes, the Fort has suffered the effects of abandonment and degradation over time. At the end of the 1990s, under URBAN programme, Forte Gullì was incorporated into Ecolandia Technological and Environmental Playground project.
Today, Ecolandia Park is the ideal place to spend a pleasant day with family or friends.
Fontanella Hotel
Fontanella Hotel was born from the intuition of two important operators, leaders in Locride area in the field of typical gastronomy, with the aim of giving life to a small but well-equipped accommodation facility in an area of great historical and cultural charm. In fact, it is located close to the archaeological site of Locri Epizefiri and the National Museum, within the ancient village of Moschetta, one of the most carefully preserved villages in all Locride, not far from the Ionian Sea. The Hotel is right in the centre of Contrada Moschetta’s square, a populous and lively hamlet of Locri, in a strategic and barycentric position within the large archaeological area that develops between Locri and Portigliola. It is easily reachable from the S.S. 106, which is about 1 km away, through two roads, one of which is collateral to the National Museum of Magna Grecia. The beach is about 1.2 km away, where a landscape of rare and wild beauty can be admired. The site where the facility is located, owned since 1700 by noble Ramirez family, is one of the most picturesque points of Contrada Moschetta di Locri, the major one among the minor historical centres built on the heights of Locri, upstream of Magna Graecia city, and became very active at least two centuries before the establishment of the modern city. The structure is a modern, well-equipped and functional 4-star hotel with 12 rooms, plus two junior suites and a suite, for a total of 30 beds, able to combine the dimension of a warm family welcome with the professionalism of the service offered.

Pro Loco del Comune di Motta San Giovanni
The Pro Loco of the Municipality of Motta San Giovanni was born in 1960 as Associazione Turistica Pro Loco Lazzaro. Following Regional Laws 13/85 and 5/95, the Statute was modified from a private deed to a public deed in 1990 and the name was changed to the current one, that is Tourist Association Pro Loco of the Municipality of Motta San Giovanni. Subsequently, again by public deed, the changes provided for by Regional Law 5/95 were made.
It is recognized by Decree of the President of the Calabria Regional Council n.165 of 08/02/1990 and registered at n.369/RC of the Regional Register of Pro Loco Tourist Associations established by Regional Law n.13/85; it is included in Art.11 of the Statute of the Municipality of Motta San Giovanni (RC).
